Manufacturing
The manufacturing industry continues to show its strength in the High Ground of Texas. Our many manufacturing facilities produce a diverse variety of products. A solid work ethic, numerous transportation outlets, proximity to markets, and low utility costs all contribute to the growth of the manufacturing industry.

Energy
The High Ground is one of the leaders in oil and gas production in the United States. This region has diversified significantly, but it is still considered one of the major oilfield technology centers in the world.

Food Processing
The fed cattle industry has served as the backbone for the development of one of the most highly productive agricultural regions in the world. The temperate climate and friendly environmental conditions has led to a steady increase in the fed cattle industry since the industry’s initial explosion in the early 70’s. The industry serves as one of the largest employers in the High Ground region. The opportunity to take our raw commodities and process them into finished, marketable products is a main target of the High Ground of Texas.

Aerospace and Aviation
The High Ground has rapidly become known for the aerospace and aviation companies that have located in the region. The High Ground boasts a number of direct operations as well as support companies. The area is well-equipped to handle corporate and manufacturing needs with a strong workforce to support this emerging industry.

Distribution
Three interstates and numerous highways make the High Ground a great distribution hub. Nearly all of the communities that make up the High Ground region are accessible by a U.S. highway or interstate. This makes the region the prime spot for several distribution centers including Wal-Mart, Family Dollar, Ben E. Keith Foods, O’Reilly Auto Parts and Dollar General. The High Ground region is also home to BNSF and Union Pacific main routes. The area is also home to several short line railways making the distribution of goods possible.

Agriculture and Technology
The long growing season and the irrigated land make the High Ground region ideally suited for the growing of any number of crops. Some of the best quality corn used in corn chip production is grown in the region. A variety of vegetables, in addition to all major field crops, are produced in the High Ground. The well-suited conditions provide excellent potential for the development of high value specialty crops in the area. More than 25 crop varieties are produced commercially in the High Ground region. Primary crops include wheat, sorghum, corn, sugar beets, hay, soybeans, cotton and vegetables.
